Luke 15:11-32
The Parable of the Prodigal Son

11 And he said, “There was a man who had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.’ And he divided his property between them. 13 Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living. 14 And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need.

HONEY represents the (i) sweetness of life. It is symbolic of (ii) strength (iii) covenantal promises being fulfilled (iv) spiritual sustenance (v) longevity (vi) growing in the Spirit (see the life of John the Baptist who was a spiritual giant). (vii) contention with family (viii) a new year or a new beginning

WEALTH TRANSFER and covenantal promises:
Ezekiel 20:6 On that day I swore to them that I would bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, a land flowing with milk and honey, the most glorious of all lands.
Isaiah 7:22 And because of the abundance of milk that they give, he will eat curds, for everyone who is left in the land will eat curds and honey. (See MILK)
Exodus 13:5 And when the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, you shall keep this service in this month.
Job 20:17 He will not look upon the rivers, the streams flowing with honey and curds. I once dreamt of milk flowing down a mountain like a stream. (See MILK)
Ezekiel 20:15 Moreover, I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land that I had given them, a land flowing with milk and honey, the most glorious of all lands
EATING HONEY:
If you dream of eating honey this dream is indicating that the LORD is making supernatural provision for you like He did for the children in the wilderness, they lack nothing and the manna He sent for them tasted of honey.
It also means receiving wisdom, Proverbs 24:13-14 My son, eat honey, for it is good, and the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste. Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
Regarding consuming too much honey. There are two things you must be mindful and prayerful of, the first is that the overflow of wealth is not all for individual consumption. (i) Proverbs 25:27 It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it glorious to seek one's own glory. The second is stated in Proverbs 25:16 If you have found honey, eat only enough for you, lest you have your fill of it and vomit it. This means that the LORD will want you to share your inheritance wisely for His Kingdom purposes and do not be self indulgent.
PHYSICAL SUSTENANCE & STRENGTH:
Exodus 16:31 Now the house of Israel called its name manna. It was like coriander seed, white, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.
1 Samuel 14:29 Then Jonathan said, “My father has troubled the land. See how my eyes have become bright because I tasted a little of this honey.
CONTENTION WITH FAMILY: Dreaming of honey can also represent a fall out with a family member. Jonathan fell out with his father because of an issue around honey. The fall out will come by: (i) a misunderstanding (ii) miscommunication (iii) broken alignment or vows. 1 Samuel 14:27 But Jonathan had not heard his father charge the people with the oath, so he put out the tip of the staff that was in his hand and dipped it in the honeycomb and put his hand to his mouth, and his eyes became bright.
SPIRITUAL SUSTENANCE: Ezekiel 3:1-3 And he said to me, “Son of man, eat whatever you find here. Eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and he gave me this scroll to eat. And he said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly with this scroll that I give you and fill your stomach with it.” Then I ate it, and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey.
SPIRITUAL GREATNESS OR GROWTH: Dreaming of honey can mean your spiritual growth may make you appear to look strange to those who are carnal in nature or to those who do not have a higher revelation of the things of God or the things that God may be doing in their midst. In the same way John the Baptist appeared strange to most people because of his higher revelation. Mark 1:6 Now John was clothed with camel's hair and wore a leather belt around his waist and ate locusts and wild honey. (See CAMEL)
ROSH HASHANAH: ( NEW BEGINNINGS) The honey symbolises the excitement for a sweet New Year ahead. It's believed that centuries ago, the apple was chosen as the fruit that was to be dipped into the honey on Rosh Hashanah due to the symbolic nature of the fruit. One of the most popular Rosh Hashanah customs involves eating apple slices dipped in honey, sometimes after saying a special prayer. Ancient Jews believed apples had healing properties, and honey signifies the hope that the new year will be sweet.
LONGEVITY: Natural, properly preserved honey will not expire. In fact, archeologists found honey thousands of years old in ancient Egyptian tombs, and it was still good! Real honey can last for a very, very long time. The National Honey Board also agrees. They say, “Honey stored in sealed containers can remain stable for decades and even centuries!” This means that the wealth you receive will be generational. Just as God's covenantal promise was generational.
