A new eruption began today south of the Kilauea Volcano caldera and north of the Koa'e fault system and the Hilina Pali Road in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
The first helicopter flyover of the site of the new eruption in the fault zone showed lava erupting from fissures 1 km (0.5 mi) long.
The eruption followed a seismic spike in which more than 400 earthquakes were recorded in the past 24 hours.

Climate is changing due to 12,000 year cycle.
