Mark - Chapter 7 Summary:

Mark chapter 7 contains teachings of Jesus on traditions and the heart, as well as several healing miracles. One key lesson from this chapter is about the importance of true worship from the heart. Jesus criticizes the Pharisees and scribes for their focus on external rituals and traditions while neglecting the matters of the heart. This teaches us about the need to worship God sincerely and to cultivate a heart that is pleasing to him.

Another lesson is about the defilement that comes from within. Jesus teaches that it is not what goes into a person that defiles them, but what comes out of their heart, such as evil thoughts and actions. This teaches us about the importance of guarding our hearts and being mindful of our thoughts and attitudes.

Furthermore, Mark 7 teaches about the inclusivity of Jesus' ministry. Jesus heals a Syrophoenician woman's daughter, showing that his ministry is not limited to the Jewish people but is extended to all who have faith in him. This teaches us about the universal nature of God's love and the invitation for all people to come to him in faith.

Overall, Mark 7 teaches us about the importance of true worship from the heart, the defilement that comes from within, and the inclusivity of Jesus' ministry.
