Folks, let me explain the term "GENERIC DRUGS".
Many falsely assume (and it does kind of sound like) generics mean something like less quality, less improved, less potent or effective, or first generation. The latter would be most accurate, along with "off brand", which is exactly what it truly means. However, that's a verbally illusive definition, probably purposely intended, as our minds have been trained by TV commercials (as well as some doctors pushing brands for their own profit share) and all those BRAND NAMES. Before they receive a fancy (or familiar) name, the generics are sold to them, by contract. In other words, the BRAND NAMES are added (changed from the original) and they are "MIDDLE MEN".
Generics means just above WHOLESALE, while "PHARMA" is a resale RETAILER. In fact, I would wager (and I do not know this to be fact) that generics are much more likely PURER.

Remember those generic cereals or other items, in plain, boring black and white boxes or packaging? That was intended to keep customer cost / product retail price lower, to compete with famous brand NAMES. Notice lower case "brand", because the ONLY difference, in many or most cases, was the container!

IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME, for some silly reason (and you shouldn't / can't trust anyone, these days) ASK A PHARMACIST or experienced NURSE.
You can ask your DOCTOR, but... it might go over like a lead balloon. On the other hand, if you see this in their demeanor, you might wish to consider finding another physician. Uh-HEM!

Please, STOP placing medical doctors (or anyone) upon a pedestal.
Don't iconize or idolize any human.
