Straight Punch Defense While On Your Back

Learn to defend a straight punch while on your back with your legs between you and your attacker! (Also known as the guard position in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.) This is a vital part of any self defense course based in Jiu Jitsu. While the straight punch is not quite as popular as the haymaker punch, it is the next most likely punch if you are being attacked from this position.

That said, learn how to defend this punch in the event you do need to defend yourself! Practice this defensive technique with a trusted partner or in your local BJJ Academy.
