One of the scariest planets that resembles Earth is Kepler-78b. While it is similar in size and composition to Earth, it harbors some truly terrifying features. Kepler-78b orbits its star at an incredibly close distance, completing a full orbit in just 8.5 hours. This proximity results in surface temperatures ranging from 2,000 to 2,800 degrees Celsius (3,600 to 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit), far exceeding what any known life forms could endure. These scorching temperatures likely cause the planet's surface to be covered in oceans of molten rock, creating an extremely hostile and hellish environment. Despite its Earth-like characteristics, Kepler-78b is an inferno where survival would be impossible.
