Energetic Dog Races So Much He Creates A Mini-Track

This little dog has run in circles so much that we are 90-percent certain that he created that dirt ring around his leash pole. If he keeps running like that we are pretty sure that he’ll eventually dig a ring hole around that thing. All that will be left is a little island of grass with a pole sticking out of it. An interesting visual to be sure. This little guy, who we think is a Jack Russell Terrier or at least mixed with one, loves racing around his pole.

This little guy is fast and energetic. Normally, we would not recommend leashing a dog to anything, but this appears to be a safe way for this particular dog to get some of his energy out and get some exercise without racing all over the place or getting into a dangerous place. Looking at this dog we did become curious about what other super fast dog breeds are out there in the world. Obviously, you have your Greyhounds that were bred for racing, but what other breeds are considered fast? By the way, a Greyhound (a somewhat naturally lazy dog that also loves sprinting) can run at speeds of up to 45 mph.

Many of the dogs considered the fastest were bred for chasing fast prey. These include dogs like the Saluki and the German Shepherd. Fun fact, the speedy Afghan Hound is one of the oldest known dog breeds in the world. The Afghan is thought to have existed as a breed since before Christianity, though specifics seem hard to come by. A couple other retriever-esque hounds with speed include the Vizsla, Dalmatian, Borzoi, Whippet and the Scottish Deerhound. The smallest speedy dog is the Jack Russell Terrier who were bred to hunt foxes!
