Athletic Dog Pulls Off Crazy Backflips When Splashed With Water

Every dog, like most humans, has a trick or talent that they are naturally capable of pulling off. Some are better at it than others and some need to be trained, but it is always interesting to see what a dog is capable of doing. We did not know this but apparently dog doing backflips is both more common than we thought and a trainable trick. We suppose that we should not have been surprised that if a dog is capable of doing a maneuver then it is trainable but it’s just never something we considered we could do. We looked it up and actually a found a few different methods for teaching your dog to do flips on command. A couple of the methods seemed pretty good, though one of the ones we found we couldn’t quite picture.

One is the leg launch point method. This involves getting the dog to do flips or jumps using your leg as a launch point. We had some trouble visualizing the training steps as we read them. You might have better luck with this one. However, the frisbee method seemed more are speed. It mostly involves getting your dog to try and catch the frisbee at various angles until he learns to flip and possibly assisting him. Of course, rewards and treats are part of this method. The other method we liked was the sit and flip method which seemed more straightforward. Look them up if you’re interested in training your dog.
