2:1 But (moreover, also, yet) there were false prophets (ψευδοπροφήτης pseudoprophētēs) also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among (with) you, who secretly bring in (deceitfully (F) damnable or destructive heresies, even denying the LORD that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Peter will listed those 8 qualities of character of the Christian, Peter had just reminded them of (Vs 5-7 of CH 1).Peter reminded them because many of these false teachers will claim to be Christians despite disowning the Master who bought them, though they wouldn’t admit to doing so.
2COR 11:13-14, For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
