Understanding the First Amendment

Today we are going to begin a series to help young people understand the Bill of Rights. Politics has taken over where education once was. For a society to grow and progress we need people to be able to think for themselves, not to mention there is few things more important thank knowing your rights. Schools have begun to rewrite the Bill of Rights and it is in a very unhealthy way. Many of us were taught the Bill of Rights as written and had no issue at all understanding, even from a very early age. We have faith our youth is just as intelligent as we were. For that reason, we are going to start our educational series on the Bill of rights. We are going to break it all down into small, factual and literal language. It is very important not to lose any meaning through a dumbed down translation. Today we will focus on the first part of the first amendment.
