Bethel church Online – “Quick” – Luke 15:20-23 – 4-13-2024

When we know Christ we are "Quick" (Alive). When do not know Christ we are dead!! Knowing Christ is way better that not!!
Luke 15:20-23 (NLT) 20 “So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. 21 His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’ 22 “But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. 23 And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, 24 for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began.

Acts 10:42 (KJV) 42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

Webster: quick: moving fast or doing something in a short time.

Biblical: quick 1. Primarily, alive; living; opposed to dead or unanimated; as quick

Ephesians 2:5 (KJV) 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Romans 6:11-12 (KJV) 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

John 1:12-13 (NLT) 12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. 13 They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

Colossians 3:17 (NLT) 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
