The kidnapper president referred to in the song is Muhammadu Buhari who is famous for taking power from civilian president, Shehu Shagari from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1933 when he was kicked out of office when he was himself a victim of a coup.

Former President of Nigeria, Buhari was behind the so-called Dikko affair. This was a joint Nigerian Israeli attempt to kidnap Umaru Dikko, a former Nigerian government minister who lived in London at the time in 1984. The plan was to smuggle Dikko back to Nigeria inside a diplomatic bag, but the British Police foiled the attempt.

Unfortunately for Nigerians, Buhari was back in office again and sworn in on 29 May 2015 with the help of Barrack Obama and his campaign team.

In June 2021, Buhari’s regime kidnapped Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from Kenya and put him in detention where he has been never since. The British Police assisted in foiling Dikko’s attempted kidnap. Still, with the state-sponsored kidnapping of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, many believe that Britain assisted Nigeria in the hope that his removal would end the clamour for the restoration of Biafra. Sadly, for the governments of Britain and Nigeria, the movement has only gone from strength to strength.
