Holdenville Police release footage amid claims of mishandling sick dog case

Holdenville Police Department (HPD) released body-cam footage of an officer responding to reports of a sick dog.

The footage was reportedly released after a Facebook post accusing the officers of encouraging the civilian to put the dog back on the street.

According to HPD, an internal investigation determined no wrongdoing by the officer.

HPD encourages any individual who comes in contact with a sick or injured animal to contact animal control.

HPD said if you have taken an animal into your custody, you are responsible for its care until properly surrendered to an animal control officer.
