International reaction to Donald Trump’s criminal conviction
Donald Trump, the former U.S. president, has been convicted by a New York jury for falsifying business records to conceal a hush-money payment made to a porn star.
This historic verdict marks the first time a former U.S. president has been found guilty of a crime.
Here is some of the reactions to the verdict by international political leaders.
KREMLIN SPOKESMAN DMITRY PESKOV:
“If we speak about Trump, the fact that there is simply the elimination, in effect, of political rivals by all possible means, legal and illegal, is obvious,” Reuters reported.
