Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a permanent cease-fire in Gaza, emphasizing that Israel’s conditions for ending the war must be met first.

These conditions include the destruction of Hamas’ military and governing capabilities, the release of all hostages, and ensuring Gaza no longer threatens Israel.

This stance contradicts a cease-fire proposal announced by U.S. President Joe Biden. Netanyahu also accepted an invitation to address Congress, showing support during the conflict.

Biden urged both sides to negotiate an extended cease-fire to release remaining hostages and retrieve bodies, the Associated Press reported.
