Three residential villages in Iran that look more like movie sets?

Kandovan
Kandovan - This stone village was formed as a result of the volcanic activity of Mount Sahand and the impact of rain, snow and human intervention. The village is located an hour's drive from the city of Tabriz (northwest Iran). Kardovan has a mosque, a school, souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants. There is also a hotel in the rocks, the rooms of which are also located in the rocks. It is difficult to imagine how ordinary living spaces such as a bedroom and kitchen are located in these rocky houses. This is fantastic, but all houses have running water and electricity, gas! The thickness of the walls of these interesting houses is about 2 m, so it is warm in winter and cool in summer.

Abhyane
Mountain village of Abyaneh. The village is located high in the mountains (2400 meters). An hour's drive from the city of Kashan. The villagers are engaged in agriculture. They mainly grow grapes, wheat and pomegranates, and also engage in livestock farming. Abyaneh boasts a rich cultural heritage (the village is more than 4,000 years old), its residents maintain their traditional customs and rituals. The village is also famous for its unique clothing, especially for women. Women wear colorful dresses with intricate embroidery and patterns, showcasing the village's uniqueness. Separately, I would like to say about women’s headscarves in Abyan. If you don’t know that this is a local production, then they can easily be confused with Pavlovo Posad scarves. They are very similar.

Masuleh
Another gem is the village of Masule. It is located in the north-west of Iran, in the Gilan province. All the houses here are built in the form of tiers: the roofs of the lower houses become the street for the upper ones. The use of any type of transport is prohibited in the village, which, of course, complicates not only everyday life, but also the construction process itself. Most of the houses in the village are two-story; between the buildings there are narrow staircases leading to the upper terraces. The main building material is wood or clay.
