Dogs and children can be great friends and having a dog can help children develop kindness, understanding and respect for living things. This is how 3-year-old Sebastian gets greeted by his best buddy Dax every morning without fail. The relationship Sebastian and Dax have is one of a kind and shows pure love between them. Children quickly understand and learn to treat the dogs as part of the family.

Sebastian treats his dog as his peers - he hugs, cuddles, holds and scolds him. Dax can’t wait for the crack of dawn because he is so eager to say “Good morning” to this little human friend in the most loving way possible. There is no doubt that their friendship will last until the end of time and it is pure and genuine.

Sebastian and Dax express affection for each other through kissing. Sebastian knows that Dax loves lavishing him with kisses, so he doesn’t protest. Instead, he has his lips curled up and awaits to get those wet smooches. How sweet is that! No wonder for Dax to get a chair next to Sebastian’s at nursery! Their relationship is twofold: Sebastian gets the attention he needs and Dax get an energetic playmate who can keep him entertained for hours on end.

Dog companionship can improve a child’s social skills with people and caring for a pet can encourage responsibility. Because of this many families have dogs. From a dog’s point of view, children communicate differently to adults; they cry, yell, shriek, crawl and run about flailing their arms. Dogs find it hard to understand children and even harder to tell them when they want to be left alone!
