Michael Fish's NBC26 Storm Shield weather forecast

Any rain for the daytime hours should move out, then there will just be a slight chance of a shower. We're going to need any dry time we can get right now, especially for that Wolf River as portions of the area just picked up 1-2" of rain last night. This could cause our local rivers to start rising again, so be aware if you live close to any. Highs today will top out in the low-70s, but become cooler near Lake Michigan as the day wears on. We have to see where a stationary front stalls out tonight to see where the main chances of rain are. Basically, it looks like the farther south you live, the better the chance of seeing some scattered showers and T'storms as the night wears on. There will probably be another daytime lull on Thursday with just a slight chance of a shower or T'storm. Highs will be in the mid-60s, though much cooler near Lake Michgan. Be aware, more significant rainfall will be on the way for portions of the area as we head into Thursday night. This will compound any river flooding as showers and T'storms will be rolling through a good portion of the area. Things quiet down for Friday as the sun comes back with highs near 70. There will be a chance of a few showers on Saturday night, but most of the weekend looks dry with highs in the mid-60s. The Wolf River near Shiocton, & New London remain under a flood warning for the time being with moderate flooding currently being observed. The last river level reading at the observation site in Shiocton was at 13.9 feet. The river level most likely will be rising again with the significant rainfall that has fallen, and even more on the way for Thursday night.
