Dr. Richard Schabas is a highly respected figure in Canadian public health with a distinguished career spanning several decades. He served as the Chief Medical Officer of Health for Ontario from 1987 to 1997, where he was responsible for planning pandemic responses. Dr. Schabas also played a crucial role during the SARS outbreak in 2003 as the chief of staff at York Central Hospital. His experience and insights have been valuable in shaping public health policies and practices in Canada.
