Matthew 24:13

St. Matthew 24:13
"But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."

Jesus tells us that there is something the Church at this time, would endure. Certainly, "endure" talks of something hurtful and painful, not something to enjoy.
"Once saved" is not enough, you have to keep working on your salvation to the end; make up your mind, grit your teeth, set your face on the Lord and go through what you have to go through! We are "appointed" for this!
