Tourists Choose A Dangerous Place To Cross The Road

Crossing a highway on foot is never a safe or smart option, either or locals or for tourists. In fact, it makes no difference in what capacity you attempt to cut your trip short and the easiness with which people misjudge the speed of the car traveling on the highway universal problem is universal.

The majority of cars travel at least 75 miles per hour on the highway. By using the distance formula, a car traveling at that speed can cover about 110 feet per second, or, in other words, in roughly three seconds a car can cover the distance of three basketball courts which makes it almost impossible for pedestrians to try to cross in enough time.
During the summer months, there are more people on the road. Bikers, cyclists, and pedestrians can be found in places where they are not supposed to be. The danger here lies in the fact that drivers frequently filter out things they do not like to see, such as pedestrians on the highway. Such is the story shown in the video above.

The filmmaker was traveling to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales, Australia, when, luckily, he spotted two tourists attempting to cross the road at a Blind Bend on an 80-km stretch. As you can see in the video, these tourists have chosen a very dangerous place to try to cross, but to add to the danger, one tourist stopped to pick up a 10 cent piece and could easily have been run over.
