Storm Shield Forecast morning update 5/1/18

A storm is sliding down the Sierra Nevada, bringing increasing winds and a chance of rain to Kern County. The valley unfortunately only has a 20 percent chance of rain this afternoon into this evening, but the Kern River Valley has a 70 percent chance of rain and the south mountains have a 60 percent chance of rain. There is also the threat of thunderstorms this afternoon, especially down in the Kern Desert where the temperatures are warmer and the air looks more unstable.
