Shma Israel - Hear O Israel

ספר דברים פרק ו, תנ"ך:

"שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ יְהוָה אֶחָד. וְאָהַבְתָּ אֵת יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בְּכָל לְבָבְךָ וּבְכָל נַפְשְׁךָ וּבְכָל מְאֹדֶךָ. וְהָיוּ הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ הַיּוֹם עַל לְבָבֶךָ. וְשִׁנַּנְתָּם לְבָנֶיךָ וְדִבַּרְתָּ בָּם בְּשִׁבְתְּךָ בְּבֵיתֶךָ וּבְלֶכְתְּךָ בַדֶּרֶךְ וּבְשָׁכְבְּךָ וּבְקוּמֶךָ."

"וְזֹאת הַמִּצְוָה הַחֻקִּים וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִים אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם לְלַמֵּד אֶתְכֶם לַעֲשׂוֹת בָּאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם עֹבְרִים שָׁמָּה לְרִשְׁתָּהּ. לְמַעַן תִּירָא אֶת יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ לִשְׁמֹר אֶת כָּל חֻקֹּתָיו וּמִצְו‍ֹתָיו אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוֶּךָ אַתָּה וּבִנְךָ וּבֶן בִּנְךָ כֹּל יְמֵי חַיֶּיךָ וּלְמַעַן יַאֲרִכֻן יָמֶיךָ. וְשָׁמַעְתָּ יִשְׂרָאֵל וְשָׁמַרְתָּ לַעֲשׂוֹת אֲשֶׁר יִיטַב לְךָ וַאֲשֶׁר תִּרְבּוּן מְאֹד כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי אֲבֹתֶיךָ לָךְ אֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבָשׁ."

This emphasizes the importance of passing down teachings from generation to generation, ensuring that faith remains a central aspect of Israel.
"Hear, O Israel" comes from the Bible, in the book of Deuteronomy ספר דברים. It's part of what's known as the Shema, a central prayer in Israel and Judah: שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל.

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our Elohim is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy Elohim with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." (Deuteronomy 6:4-5)

This passage declares that there is only one Elohim. It's recited daily by observant believers as a declaration of faith and devotion to Elohim. The Shema encapsulates the essence of Israel belief and serves as a reminder of the covenant between Elohim and Israel.

The Shema continues with further instructions:
"And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

The phrase "Hear, O Israel" serves as a call to attention, urging the people to listen and internalize the fundamental beliefs and commandments of their faith. It's a powerful declaration of and devotion to Elohim.

"Hear, O Israel" serves as a rallying cry for believers to listen attentively to Elohim's commandments, affirm our faith in His oneness, and live out our devotion to Him in every aspect of our lives. love for Elohim, and the transmission of faith from one generation to the next, making it profoundly important in the lives of believers according to the bible.
Several passages affirm Elohim's victory over evil and His protection of His people.

The antichrist is often depicted as a figure who opposes Elohim and deceives many people, particularly during a period of tribulation preceding the second coming of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach. While the bible doesn't provide an exact day of end-time events, it does assure believers that Elohim will ultimately triumph over evil and establish His Holy kingdom.

REVELATION 19:11-21: This passage describes the ultimate triumph of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach over the forces of evil, including the antichrist and his followers. Yeshua is depicted as a victorious warrior who defeats the enemies of Elohim and establishes His reign of righteousness, in the New Jerusalem that will come from Heaven.

1 John 4:4: "You are of Elohim, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” This verse reassures believers that Elohim's power within them is greater than any opposing force, including the Antichrist.

Matthew 24:22: "And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." This verse suggests that God will intervene in the events of the end times to protect His chosen people from ultimate destruction.
While the concept of the Antichrist and end-time events can be complex and subject to various interpretations, the overarching message of Scripture is one of hope and assurance for believers. Elohim is ultimately in control, and His purposes will prevail over all opposition, including that of the Antichrist. Therefore, believers are encouraged to remain faithful and trust in Elohim’s sovereignty, knowing that He will ultimately bring about His victory and establish His kingdom of peace and righteousness.
