Police Shut Down Encampment, Make Arrests at Wayne State University in Detroit

Wayne State University Police moved in early morning on Thursday, May 30th to clear the pro-Palestine encampment set up on campus

Several arrests were made, and protesters were pushed to the sidewalk as the campus was closed off

A crew came through to clear items from the encampment immediately after, with a dumpster brought in along Gullen Mall

Protesters remained in the area for a few hours, with a press conference held later in the morning to discuss the police clearing and arrests made. Demonstrators then mobilized to the Detroit Detention Center on Mound Road ahead of arrestees’ release
