Hiking is a great way to get out in nature, get some exercise and enjoy the beauty of the world. There are a ton of products out there solely geared toward enjoying hiking. The family in this video is hiking through a hilly, slightly desert looking area with a small creek. Two boys in the group climb on to a fallen tree that is over the creek. One of the boys is already sitting when the video starts. The other walks on to the log and attempts to sit down but he never has a good grip on the log. He ends up flipping back on the and landing face first in the flowing water.

In our opinion, the woman who runs over to the boy after he falls is overreacting just a little bit. What about you guys? Obviously, parental worry can cause overreactions but it is not like the kid fell a long distance. Fortunately for all involved, the kid is just fine, if soaking wet. In fact, after seeing that the boy is okay, the woman who screamed just walks away. So, you know, solid choices. The boy seems a bit embarrassed by the whole ordeal. Hopefully someone had an extra dry shirt or something for him to switch into while he dries.

In related news to hiking, did you know that the oldest continually used hiking trail in the United States is one that goes up to the summit of Mount Washington in New Hampshire. It was created by Abel and Ethan Crawford in 1819. The trail is 8.5 miles long. The oldest long-distance trail in the United States is the Vermont Long Trail which runs from the Vermont and Massachusetts border all the way up to Canada going some 438 kilometers.
