Prime Video on Tuesday dropped the official trailer of its new series My Lady Jane, a Tudor-era fantasy filled with action, adventure, comedy and romance, with the announcement that it will premiere on the streamer on June 27.

Based on a best-selling book by Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand, and Jodi Meadows, the eight-episode series reimagines the tragic life of Lady Jane Grey, who became the queen of England for only nine days before Mary Tudor replaced her on the throne.

The two-minute-42-second-long trailer opens with a monologue. “History remembers Jane as the ultimate damsel in distress known for her death rather than her life. F**k that, what if history were different?” the monologue says, hinting at a thorough reimagining of British history during the Tudor era.

Newcomer Emily Bader takes on the lead role of Jane Grey, while Edward Bluemel plays her lover-turned-husband Lord Guildford Dudley and Jordan Peters portrays the role of King Edward. Other cast members include Anna Chancellor, Rob Brydon, Dominic Cooper and James Broadbent.

The trailer goes on to show how Lady Grey defies a corrupt monarch scheming against her claim to the crown. Her life takes a wild turn when she meets Lord Guildford Dudley and together they go on amorous adventures.

This retelling of English royal history, slated to stream in 240 countries, imagines a world where King Henry VIII's son Edward survives tuberculosis, Lady Jane Grey avoids execution after nine days of being throned and her husband Guildford is also spared.

Historically, Lady Grey, the great-granddaughter of King Henry VII, was proclaimed queen following the death of her first cousin King Edward VI. However, support quickly shifted to Edward's half-sister Mary Tudor, leading to Jane's imprisonment in the Tower of London, her conviction for treason and eventual execution.
"What if history were different?!" Amazon's Prime Video has revealed the official trailer for a series titled My Lady Jane, arriving for streaming in June this summer. It's yet another of these spins on the damsel in distress trope by turning the ladies into the badass heroines who do the rescuing instead of being the one rescued (also see: Netflix's Damsel). History's most tragic heroines but re-imagined with an uplifting twist: the damsel in distress saves herself - and then the kingdom. A Lord of the Rings fan-favourite is finally making an appearance on screen. Rory Kinnear has joined the cast of The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power season 2. The first look at the character is out now.

The makers of Rings of Power unveiled the first look at Rory Kinnear’s jovial Tom Bombadil. He can be seen wearing a hat.

The series’ showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay opened up about the new addition. McKay shared, “He’s whimsical and magical, and almost verging on silly. But also has the wisdom of the ages and the music of the spheres and deep emotional wells of ancient history and myth, and his conception and function are tied to Norse myths and have deep roots in European fairy tale.”

Payne added, “So weirdly, he’s kind of the most Lord of the Rings thing in Lord of the Rings. Tom is sort of a curiosity within that structure because while it is darker, Tom Bombadil is singing and saying lines that could be nursery rhymes from children’s poems. So, he sort of defies the tonal shift of the rest of the season and is a real point of light amidst an otherwise sea of darkness.”

Kinnear shared, “There’s this sense of huge experience, huge openness, huge empathy, and having gone through so much that he[Bombadil] knows it’s the small things that are important. That felt actually quite domestic, felt quite reachable in terms of my understanding of who he was.”

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 will release on August 29, 2024.

The trailer of Wolfs sees Brad Pitt and Geroge Clooney show up at an apartment to covertly cover up a murder. Except neither of the two knew the other received the same call. The mysterious caller tells them they have no choice but to work together. However, they can’t seem to get along.

The official synopsis reads, “Two professional fixers find themselves hired for the same job. To deal with upcoming dangerous and chaotic events, they are forced to work together.”

Wolfs is written and directed by Spider-Man: Far From Home filmmaker Jon Watts. The film is co-produced by the Ocean’s duo Pitt and Clooney. It also features Auston Abrams, Amy Ryan and Poorna Jagannathan.

A list of talented actors have joined Daniel Craig for Knives Out 3, a.k.a., Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The third instalment will follow Detective Benoit Blanc's adventures in the first two, namely Knives Out (2019) and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022).

The new cast mates include Josh O'Connor, Cailee Spaeny, and Andrew Scott. Here's eveything we know about the cast, plot, and the newly-added characters in the story:

Cast and characters

Daniel Craig will reprise his role as Detective Benoit Blanc in the third Knives out instalment. According to certain reports, Hugh Grant may return as Philip, Benoit Blanc's partner. However, his involvement with the third movie hasn't been confirmed yet. Stars who have been confirmed to join Craig are Josh O'Connor, whose role hasn't been announced yet. Josh was recently seen in Challengers alongside Zendaya and Mike Faist. He also starred as young Charles in the series, The Crown.
Knives Out 3

'Priscilla' star Cailee Spaeny is set to star in the movie as well. The details of her character hasn't been revealed yet.

Plot

The plot is currently being kept under wraps. However, the teaser video featured a voiceover from Daniel Craig, who hinted that the third instalment will have its share of intense moments. "In the beginning, the knives came out. Then behold, the glass was shattered... But my most dangerous case yet is about to be revealed," he said.

The release date of the movie hasn't been confirmed yet, but the makers are hinting at releasing it at some point in 2025.

Actor Johnny Wactor, best known for his role in General Hospital, was shot and killed during a theft attempt in Los Angeles. He was 37 years old.

As per reports on a leading news portal, around 3 am on Saturday, Johnny Wactor was with a colleague when they witnessed three masked suspects attempting to steal a catalytic converter from his car.

According to the police, Wactor was fatally shot by one of the thieves although he did not put up a fight. The suspects then fled the scene. The actor was pronounced dead upon arrival at the local hospital.

Reports also mention that Wactor’s mother, Scarlett revealed key details about the tragic incident. The actor was bartending and was walking towards his car with his colleagues. When they reached his car, Wactor initially thought it was being towed by the authorities. However, when he went close and attempted to speak to one of the suspects, he shot him and escaped.

BTS RM has finally released his much-anticipated solo album Right Place, Wrong Person. The rapper has released a trippy music video for the title track of the album, LOST. Overall, the album has 11 songs including the pre-release track Come back to Me.

LOST is a pop song that speaks about conflicts that arise from feeling lost and not being able to find answers to certain questions in life. The music video begins with an uncanny frame where RM is seen lip syncing the lyrics from a maze-like set up. The other actors in the frame slowly change into RM and make the entire video way more eerie.

Hollywood actress and icon Angelina Jolie has been ordered by a Los Angeles judge to submit eight years' worth of non-disclosure agreements (NDA) for the ongoing legal battle with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, over their French winery Château Miraval.

The actress was told to produce all non-privileged documents that are in her possession, custody, or control and are responsive to Brad Pitt’s legal team’s request which includes any NDAs that Angelina must have entered into. The judge has given her a month to comply with the order.

A source from Brad’s team described the ruling as a crushing blow to Angelina, who had earlier said that carrying out such a request would be expensive, wasteful, unreasonable, and abusive. Her lawyers also continued to indicate that unveiling of the documents jeopardises the privacy of other people involved in the contracts.

However, after the recent ruling, Angelina’s attorney, Paul Murphy, framed it as a victory for their side and said, “Common NDAs are simply not comparable to Mr. Pitt’s last-second demand to try and cover up his personal misconduct. We are more than happy to turn them over and we are gratified that the Court acknowledged that the only potential relevance is to the unconscionability of Mr. Pitt’s conduct, a now confirmed key issue in this case.”
