Today We are re creating the iconic Westinghouse propaganda poster girl Rosie the Riveter. This poster became one of the most influential posters during WWII depicting women's strength and independence. As men were being drafted into war during the 1940's, it was women who were encouraged to join the workforce to uphold the integrity of the workplace and the economy while the men were over seas. In most cases women were let go of their duties once the men returned from service. Those who chose to stay, were paid substantially less and even demoted. Rosie the Riveter is still celebrated today as one of the most famed testaments to equality of women in the workforce. This is an easy and comfortable costume for all ages.
