Early investigations into severe turbulence that hit aSingapore Airlines flight last week reveal it droppedaround 178ft (54m) over 4.6 seconds.
One British passenger died and dozens more wereinjured when the London-Singapore flight encounteredthe turbulence and had to make an emergency landing in Thailand.
Singaporean investigators have extracted data storedin the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder of the aircraft.
