Israel denies deadly Rafah strike ondisplacement camp | BBC News

Israel has denied launching a deadly air strike on acamp of displaced people in al-Mawasi, on the coastwest of Rafah, on Tuesday.

The strike followed mounting international pressure onIsrael in the wake of Sunday's air strike in Rafah whichkilled at least 45 people, according to the Hamas-runhealth ministry, which Israel called a "tragic mishap".

But Israeli officials claim they did not organise theal-Mawasi strike on Tuesday, which Palestinianofficials say resulted in 21 people being killed, with a further 64 injured.

Meanwhile, Algeria has become the latest country toask for a UN resolution in hopes a ceasefireagreement can be agreed between the two sides.
