Even At The Founding What Do You Have Regarding "Religion" ? You Have The Freedom Thereof. It Doesn't Say Christian", It Says Freedom Of Religion. Because Up To That Point From The Crusades And Before, The Kings & Queens Were Controlled By The Church. The Roman Catholic Church To Be Exact. They Killed People For Their Religion If It Wasn't The Religion They Said You Must Have In Their Country.
Even Later When Christians Came Here, They Killed The Natives, And Then Had "Witch Hunts" To Kill Each Other. No, I Would Say "Freedom Of Religion" Was Quite Deliberate, And Even Venture To Say, Some Of Them Freemasons Who Were Founders Were trying To Get Away From "Christianity". Of Course Religous Zealots Will Tell You i'm A Heretic For Saying This.
