“Before the trip, I only knew general information about Iran - that this place had long been inhabited by people who were engaged in agriculture and similar general facts: Iran has oil, the population professes Islam and the country is under sanctions.

The journey turned out to be easier than expected: there were no special checks from regulatory authorities, as they like to show in American films. The people are very friendly, their mentality is close to us - they also love humor and irony, plus oriental hospitality is added to this)

The planes are quite comparable to those that fly here in Russia - not new, but not too old to be noticeable. The Iranians themselves fly a lot - on domestic flights almost all the seats were filled, despite the fact that planes fly at intervals of 30 - 60 minutes (this is about the flights Shiraz - Kish Island, Kish Island - Tehran, on the rest it’s probably the same).

During the trip, we touched upon the ancient history of the country - we visited an underground city about 9,000 years old in Kashan, the ancient capital of Persepolis, saw the tombs of kings Xerxes I and Darius I and II, visited museums in Tehran and Shiraz, as well as the 33 Arches Bridge, the Friday Mosque in Isfahan, Zoroastrian temple in Yazd.

The female part of the group, in my opinion, was especially pleased with the opportunity to buy Iranian silk scarves, turquoise jewelry, saffron and other spices.

What I personally liked and remember the most was the following:
1. Ram's head - it turned out to be VERY tasty, although it looked unusual;
2. Scuba diving on Kish Island - we saw a turtle, stingrays, corals and a lot of fish;
3. Persepolis and tombs nearby;
4. Golestan Palace in Tehran;
5. Beautiful mosques with mirrored interior decoration;
and much more that you can see, try, feel and learn for yourself when you visit this wonderful country - Iran!"
