The study finds the share in the state of ALICE households; which stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed; has grown by 20-percent from 2010 to 2022. The number of households that are in poverty, however, dropped by six-percent in the same time period. Twenty-percent of all of Michigan's ALICE households received SNAP benefits from the state in 2022.
