The Physiology of Jesus Blood

One of the most famous hymns in Christian denominations is “Nothing but the blood of Jesus”. Although published in 1876, one can still hear this song today in church worship, online or on the radio at any time.

What is it about Jesus blood that can instantly redeem a man or woman? Sure we know about the cross and Christ’s willingness to offer His life for the sake of humanity….but why blood?

More specifically, why did God choose this substance in particular….why not His heart?, His mind?, His soul, Although He offers Holy Spirit, it’s not equivalent to His precious blood.

There is an old expression that I happen to agree with, and it goes like this:

“God is in the details”

Sticking with this point, blood is mentioned over 700 times in the word of God.

Hebrews 9:22 states “Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins”.
