Miss You - Mirwais 'Coming Out Gay' - Nik Stamps

I came out gay to everyone with this silly music video on June Ninth, 2011!

In 2001, I put that red hoodie on, lip-synced for hours to a techno remix of the Rolling Stones song to show I can be a Director, my lifelong dream. Nobody would trust or believe in me to endure the tedious process to create a music video, so I played the pop star role but I hated the results and canceled the project.

It took another 10 years and combination of all of the skills I learned with many other video projects that didn't make me 'feel gay' like how that raw footage embarrassed me whenever I watched it in 2001. Over those years I videoed again, each version trying to act more 'straight' while lip-syncing to this song. I came to Realize I needed to finally accept myself to become the 'honest artist' that I can only be without the fear created in me by society's demons which followed me for so long.

I had to end up in jail for 28 hours & face a court trial where if I didn't admit I was gay I would go to jail. So I came out personally to myself in 2010, changed my whole life. Ended the love I had with my Fiance' and let her live a better life. Than only in 2011 did I re-watch that footage of me in the red hoodie, I loved who I was in it, acting gay and being 'real' So I chose this as the 'coming-out' tool that I used to reveal to my family, loved ones, friends and public all at once on June Ninth, 2k11 with the posting of this video.

It was an amazing day that freed me on all levels to pursue the life and dreams I once fought against & hide from the world. At one point I woulda jumped from a bridge before I would ever admit "I also like guys" but I said it this video and now say I only like guys cause even with those former words, I carefully picked them to not exclude liking girls cause I still feared saying I like guys 100% and hated being gay but I know it's what my heart wants as much as much sexual attraction wants and it's only for males.

....Cause I'm never gonna 'Miss U'......my former straight life & false image I created to be accepted and loved by society, I thought I could hide being gay and I tried to for 27 years. I love myself these days and ready to show the world what I can do when I follow my heart, admit I'm gay and finally be honest with the world! I never thought I'd be this happy and thought I was happy before I ended up in jail for repressing my gay side! I am happy and I am an honest artist, so I know that can make me a great artist the world will never forget.
