Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged US President Joe Biden and China's President Xi Jinping to attend a peace summit in Switzerland next month.

In a video message, Zelensky said, "I am appealing to the leaders of the world who are still aside from the global efforts of the global peace summit: to President Biden, the leader of the United States, and to President Xi, the leader of China."

He called for their participation, stating, "Please support the peace summit with your personal leadership and participation," adding that "the efforts of the global majority are the best guarantee that all commitments will be fulfilled."

The peace summit on the Ukraine war is set to take place in Lucerne on June 15-16.

The Swiss government announced that 160 delegations have been invited, but Russia will not be attending.

Zelensky mentioned that "more than 80 countries confirmed they will come."

Earlier this month, Switzerland extended an invitation to Indian leaders to join the summit. However, reports indicate that New Delhi has yet to respond to the invitation.
