IDF probes masked soldier’s threatening video calling for mutiny

A reserve soldier who called for insurrection within the IDF has been barred from future service following an inquiry, the military announced on Sunday.

The man, a business owner from Herzliya and a known Likud activist, posted a viral video while masked, urging rebellion against IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

Initial investigations indicated the video was filmed in an abandoned building in central Israel, not Gaza.

In the video, he addressed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, expressing opposition to handing over control to the Palestinian Authority and calling for a decisive victory against Israel’s enemies.

The soldier’s actions violated IDF rules prohibiting social media posts about military activities, a rule increasingly breached as the conflict continued.

The video was shared on Telegram by Netanyahu’s son, Yair Netanyahu, the Jerusalem Post has reported.
