Soul Fiber Produced By Adversity- The Second Reading From “Royal Purposes”

“Royal Purposes 31 Readings For The Tempted, Tried and Suffering” compiled by Edwin and Lillian Harvey in 1963. This is the second reading titled “Soul Fiber Produced By Adversity”. I don’t know how fitting it is that I share this on the eve of Memorial Day 2024 but it is fitting for anyone who is (or soon will be) tempted, tried and suffering.

I was deployed to Kuwait in December 1999. Just before my flight out of CONUS, a C-130 transport aircraft made an emergency landing in Kuwait, claiming the lives of three airman. At least one of these men was assigned to the same unit I was to be assigned to in the following days.
So, this Memorial Day I remember Airman 1st Class Warren T. Willis, Capt. Michael D. Geragosian and Airman 1st Class Travis Hall.
