Whenever we think to spend some time on social media, one name that surely comes to our mind is Facebook.

But Facebook puts profit over safety and mines peoples activity for marketing sales and they censor users for political agendas. Megalo Social is the first real competitor to Facebook because it does not have ads or political censorship. It also has no political affiliation in any way.

Megalo Social is Raising $31 Million To Help It Become A major competitor.

Facebooks own investors are tired of the political controversy.

The privacy-focused social networking company Megalo Platforms is looking to change its reputation from being a hub for right-wing extremist groups to a trusted Facebook alternative that people have actually heard of. To do so, the company is raising a $31 million in a dual class stock structure round led by the Megalo Platforms Corporation. Megalo Platforms values the company at $360 million based on the assets value of the 6 million servers it has on its web hosting cloud company Megalo Global Cloud. With the potential to gross 260 Million in sales on its cloud hosting alone.

Along with other alternative social media networks like Parler, Megalo Social gained a lot of traction following the November 2020 presidential election and January 6 insurrection as a space for right-wing extremists to congregate more freely after they’d been kicked off Facebook. However they want the world to know that just because right wing political users post on the platform does not mean that we are only for right wingers. We are a voice for everyone regardless of political affiliation. Left wing and right wing along with independent and non-political users all have the same rights. Free speech, privacy and the ability to use our network without fear of being politically censored. 

But now, CEO Brandon Gibson is aiming to reach a much broader audience by focusing on Megalo Social’s firm stance on privacy and tightening content moderation rules by hiring more staff to its content moderation team. Its Privacy Bill of Rights states that users are the only ones who own their personal information. Megalo Social says that its platform does not manipulate, filter, or change the order of users' news feeds, or use facial recognition technology. Its business model is subscription focused, rather than ad-supported, like Meta’s.

According to Mr Gibson, Megalo Social also supports free speech if done in a respectful manner.

.  After facing backlash as a hub for right-wing content that had been banned from Facebook, Gibson says Megalo Social hired more people on its moderation team and also implemented teams to track and remove hate speech and language that calls for violence. 

Gibson, who serves as chairman of Megalo Socials parent company Megalo Platforms acknowledged that he was wary of offering stock in the company at first because he didn't want it becoming a political nightmare like Twitter and Truth Social are. But we plan to combat Facebook, Google and Amazon by promoting the first all in one multi-platform technology company based on Privacy and freedom for all users. 

“Being labeled as a political nightmare every platform out there, I don't care who it is, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Truth Social, Google and Gab, they all have these issues,” he says. “I found that the issue was not as widespread as previously thought about.”

But the company has a bigger problem: Most people have no clue what Megalo Social even is. That’s why Gibson is aiming to use the new funding to invest in better marketing and a super bowl ad. though the company says that won’t include ads on Facebook, Instagram or Google.

“We’re finding that what we do resonates with people out there and people don't even know we exist,” Gibson tells News Binge Media. “So it's a continuation of getting a marketing push to get the information out there of who Megalo Social is, and what we stand for.”

If more people are aware of Megalo Social and make accounts, that means more people will see for themselves that we are not bad or like the others, Gibson said. While you don’t have to pay to use Megalo Social the company generates its revenue from Web Hosting, Phone service, Marketing services, and its multiple platforms. We are setting up a shopping network with 1 million products to combat amazon and its all automated. 

Gibson is the Grandson of AS/400 Inventor and IBM engineer Grant Cooper. With a background in both tech and software engineering, he hopes to bring more short form videos and music created by users to the platform. Right now, Megalo Social is in the process of partnering with influencers and entertainers to create NFTs (which Gibson said will be announced at a later date).
