I believe the devil will employ a strategy to weaken the Church without even raising the suspicion of the people making up the Church. His strategy is to undermine, infiltrate, and in any way possible negatively affect the two most necessary elements for the growth and health of the spiritual life of the Church. They are Number One: Sound spiritual leaders and Number Two: Sound doctrine. Without these two factors being in place and solid, the Church is weakened.
