Although from early on many did accept it, Clement of Rome (85AD) has several references to 2 PET 2-3, Justin Martyr as well as Jerome, Augustine and others. Point is the book of 2 Peter was widely accepted by the early Church.
There were a few of the NT Epistles letters that took longer than other books to be accepted. Primarily because these were not included in some of the early translations. But not because of doubt, well the main reason was that some letters seemed to take longer than others to be distributed.
EPH 4:4-6, There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One LORD, one faith, one baptism, 6 One GOD and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Because GOD is perfectly righteous, HE has devised and authored a way of justification by which man can be made righteous. That system is the gospel, and that is based on the death, burial and resurrection and ascension of Yeshua.The result of submitting to that gospel makes us righteous, not by our own merit or sinless life, or following kosher dietary laws…but by the grace of GOD.
ROM 1:16, For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.
