Domestic Violence Suspect Shot by Cops After He Attempted to Retrieve a Gun From His Waistband

On May 5, 2024, Oklahoma City Police officers responded to a domestic call in the 7400 block of NW 106th St. While officers were responding to the call, it was reported the male suspect was shooting a gun. When officers arrived, they came into contact with the armed male, identified as 46-year-old Kenneth Allsen, outside of the residence. Allsen was given verbal commands by the officer but refused to comply. Allsen walked away from the officers and then looked back as he grabbed a gun from his waist. Lt. James Runner discharged his firearm, striking Allsen. Allsen was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other reported injuries.
