Zelensky Calls for Global Unity Ahead of Peace Summit
In a powerful video message, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addresses the urgent need for global unity to confront Russia's aggression. Zelensky condemns the actions of Russian leaders, stating, "For them, it is a pleasure to burn. We all know who we are dealing with. Russia is run by men who want to make it a norm – burning lives, destroying cities and villages, dividing people, and erasing national borders through war."
Zelensky emphasizes that no nation can stop such a war alone and calls for the engagement of world leaders. He points out that Ukraine has endured countless lies from Russia during negotiations, underscoring the necessity of a united global front. The upcoming Global Peace Summit, starting June 15th and prepared in collaboration with Switzerland, aims to bring together leaders from over eighty countries to advance real peace.
Zelensky specifically appeals to President Biden and President Xi to show their leadership in supporting the Peace Summit. He urges all leaders to join the efforts, stating that the collective actions of the global majority are the best guarantee for fulfilling commitments and achieving lasting peace.
