The Jaguar XK120 was the fastest production car. In the 1950 Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race, 3 XK120s competed. But no prizes were taken. In 1951, Jaguar released a racing version of the car called the XK120 — C-Type, and in 1951 Peter Whitehead and Peter Walker won first place at Le Mans.

At first, only roadsters were produced, and from 1951 they began to produce coupes and in 1953 - a convertible. A total of 12,078 cars were produced, 240 of them were produced with the original aluminum body. Over 80% of cars were exported, the vast majority in the United States.
