2024 was already predicted to be a tough year for cinemas with many high profile movies getting delayed until 2025 due to last year’s strike; however, things are looking worse than initially predicted.

Most of the anticipated movies released in 2024 have been underwhelming at the box office. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga underwhelms during it opening which is predicted to be the worst Memorial Day weekend for cinemas since 1995. Theaters around the country are trying to get more inventive in how they generate money because what Hollywood is putting out is just not enough to garner interest from general audiences.
