Researchers at the State University of Campinas conducted a study involving 49 participants and found that consuming a dietary supplement with 15 g of the substance daily for five weeks enhanced glucose metabolism post-meal.
The peel of the Jaboticaba berry (Plinia jaboticaba), native to Brazil’s Atlantic Rainforest, is often discarded due to its high tannin content, which gives it a puckering taste. However, a study published in the journal Nutrition Research suggests that this skin could be highly beneficial in combating obesity and metabolic syndrome.
