In the past seven months, somewhere between halfand two-thirds of Myanmar has fallen to the resistanceof a military coup that began in 2021.
Tens of thousands of people have been killed sincethen, including many children, with some 2.5 million displaced.
Now, the military is facing an unprecedented challenge to its rule.
And in an attempt to thwart the growing resistance, itregularly bombs civilians, schools and churches from its warplanes.
The BBC's Middle East Correspondent QuentinSommerville spent a month on the front line to find out more.
