NBC News Got Duped by a Misleading Viral Video Meant to Smear LGBTQ People

A Twitter user shared a short clip from NYC's Drag March pointing out how the crowd was chanting "we're here, we're queer, we're coming for your children." It immediately went viral, with conservative commentators using it as evidence that LGBTQ people are a danger to children. The problem, however, is the video itself is very misleading. But to make matters worse, NBC News published an article that legitimized the hyperbolic conservative commentary about the viral clip.
