Palestinian state is recognized by several European countries

On Wednesday, Norway, Ireland, and Spain announced their recognition of a Palestinian state, a historic move that was celebrated by Palestinians and condemned by Israel.

In response, Israel recalled its ambassadors from Norway and Ireland and was considering doing the same with its ambassador to Spain.

The recognition will officially take effect on May 28, as confirmed by Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, CBS News has reported.
