RNC on Lockdown After ‘Vials of Blood’ Sent to Washington DC Headquarters

The Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington D.C. were put under lockdown on Wednesday morning after an unknown substance was delivered.

NBC News reported that three sources said the materials being investigated were vials of blood sent to the RNC. Police and a HAZMAT team was sent to the area, and the package was ultimately cleared by Capitol Police. A source told NBC, however, that the blood is still being tested.

Fox News reported that RNC staffers were sent a notice to stay clear of the area. At approximately 9:30 a.m., an “all clear” was given over what was described as a “suspicious package.”
