PEACE News & Views tonight, joint hosts Siir Steve & Kim Cooper are joined by activist/entrepreneur Adam Macgillivray in Vancouver BC

Adam Macgillivray grew up in northern Ontario. in the district of Sault ste. Marie He has been a cannabis supporter since the young age of 13. Growing up in a difficult home, he discovered in his early teen years he could turn to cannabis to keep himself level. After moving to British Columbia at the age of 23. Adam worked in the garbage industry for almost 13 years, then he entered the edibles space. Adam, along with his wife at that time, took over managing a friends edible company and operated that for 2 years. After a few years of working for others, Adam launched his own medibles brand, Madd Hatter. During the first 3 years of launching Madd Hatter, Adam donated regularly to the Vancouver Cannabis Substitution Program and developed a friendship with a man Adam now calls his mentor, Neil Magneson. Currently Adam is running his company and is also part of the management at the Vancouver CSP.
In Nov of 2020 Adam and his wife were raided in their home by Delta pd. Adam says "we were treated atrociously during the process". The police had arranged to turn their power off for 4 days in the coldest weekend of the winter. During the raid Adam and his family were removed from the home while the police searched the property. While the officers were inside they opened every door and window in the house before the Delta PD let them back into the house. The officers destroyed the inside of the home. Family pets were also abused in the process, with aquarium pets dying due to temps and lack of power for pumps. With all this devastation and over 2 years in court, all the charges were dropped and no action has been taken against Adam or his company. The death and destruction that took place at the hands of the police department is considered collateral damage by authorities.
Today Adam is putting all his efforts into supporting the CSP in all ways possible.
